Barron County Restorative Justice Programs (BCRJP) will host “Making Connections”, an open house for anyone interested in learning about volunteer opportunities with the organization.

The program is scheduled from 6 to 7 PM on Monday, July 31st at Rice Lake City Hall. BCRJP encourages people to consider how they can make a difference in the community by joining its family of volunteers.

Volunteers are needed in a variety of positions, working from one hour a month to a few hours per week.

Volunteer opportunities include: Serving as a community voice in restorative conferences as a co-facilitator or by sharing the impacts of theft or other crimes; Taking a stand against drinking and driving by helping with set-up, registration, ushering or speaking at our Victim Impact Panel; Sharing the potential impacts of traffic offenses on our community as a community member for our Teen Traffic Violators Program; Assisting in the office with clerical duties; and, Serving as a mentor while assisting a client with community service.
