UPDATED - Friday, September 13, 2019 - A car crash west of Barron and a stabbing in Cameron appear to be connected.  At 5:47 a.m. Thursday, the Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call of a car vs dump truck crash on Hwy 8 just west of Barron. Initial investigation shows a car driven by 21-year old Eldon Jackson, of Cameron, crossed the center line and struck a dump truck driven by 52-year old Robert Tourville, of Prairie Farm. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene and Tourville was transported to the Mayo Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Hwy 8 was closed for over four hours while  the crash was being reconstructed by the Wisconsin State Patrol.  At 10:51am Thursday, a 911 call from a trailer home at 800 South Limits in Cameron, reported a female was deceased from a stab wound. Initial investigation shows that inside the trailer 22-year old Audra Poppe, of Rice Lake, was found deceased. The trailer in this case is where Eldon Jackson, from the earlier fatal accident on Highway 8, was living.  The vehicle that Jackson was driving when he collided with the dump truck was Poppe’s vehicle. More information will be released after the autopsy and evidence is processed and examined. There is no danger to the public and police are not looking for any suspects.
