Wednesday, November 11 -- Governor Tony Evers, in an address to the state last evening, said he had signed an executive order recommending Wisconsinites stay home as much as possible and limit gatherings to immediate family. Evers says he knows this will result in a "hard Thanksgiving," but the measure is necessary to help slow the rapid spread of the coronavirus. Evers' order contains no enforcement language. The state set records yesterday with 7,073 new cases and 66 COVID-related deaths. The 7-day average for test positivity is now at its highest ever, 36%. Mayo Health System announced that several of its hospitals, including those in Barron and Bloomer, are now full.
