FEMA Reimbursement Funding

The Washburn County Forestry Department has been awarded disaster reimbursement funding from FEMA’s Public Assistance Program to cover damages from torrential rains in July 2016. 

Over 9” of rain fell in the region causing widespread flooding, road closures, and severe damage to critical infrastructure. 

County officials collected information and documented all the damages to be eligible for reimbursement funding of over $440,000.
