As any Wisconsin resident knows, ticks are quite the nuisance. But more than just an annoyance, they can also spread several illnesses to people, and preventing bites from ticks is the key step in avoiding these illnesses. In a local effort to fight the bite, Amanda Weinert, a Registered nurse with Rusk County Health, is talking with hikers and campers in Rusk County parks and campgrounds, and doing a survey about tick bite prevention and giving out free Fight the Bite tick prevention kits.  To get your own Fight the Bite kit, you can call Rusk County Heath at 715-532-2299, or get more information about tick prevention online at   dhs.wisconsin.gov, keywords 'fight the bite'
