Haugen Celebrates 100

The village of Haugen is celebrating it’s 100th anniversary this weekend.

The village started as a logging camp in 1879, then a railroad stop in 1883, and a post office was opened in 1879.

It became an incorporated municipality in 1918.

The 100-year anniversary is the focus of this year’s Haugen Fun Days being held this Saturday and Sunday.

There will be food and games, a street dance Saturday night, and a formal centennial proclamation taking place just before the Grand Parade at Noon Sunday on Main Street in front of the Dairy State Bank Haugen branch.
