A high speed chase, covering about 40 miles and three counties, ends with the suspect behind bars.

On Friday at approximately 1:50pm, the Barron County Sheriff's Department joined the Chippewa County Sheriff's Department in a high speed chase northbound on HWY 53. Barron County officers deployed stop sticks near the Chetek exit but the driver was able to avoid them and the pursuit continued into Washburn County. In Washburn County, near Sarona, stop sticks were again used this time puncturing three of the suspects' tires. Another Washburn County officer was then able to use their car to pin the vehicle in the ditch.

The driver of the car, 29 year old Danielle Ford of Chippewa Falls was taken into custody without further incident. The vehicle she was driving was stolen from the West Allis area.

Ford is being held in the Barron County jail on charges of Felony Fleeing and Operating a Motor Vehicle without Owner's Consent.

The chase covered approximately 40 miles all on HWY 53.
