Friday, June 5 -- Marchers and a caravan of cars moved westward out of Milwaukee toward the Mayfair Mall in suburban Wauwatosa last night, but stopped short when they saw police were waiting for them. The crowd of several hundred people then turned back and returned to the city. Police presence was light along their route. It was the eighth straight day of protests in the city over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on Memorial Day. Another group of protesters marched through the east side of Milwaukee to downtown and back. Several hundred marchers briefly took over intersections, but remained peaceful.
