Tuesday, November 26, 2019 - The Barron County Sheriff's Department has released more information about the crash that happened over the weekend at the Country Inn north of Rice Lake. The initial collision occurred just after 6pm Saturday when a Chevy Suburban driven by Brent Burns of Rice Lake and traveling east on County Hwy B failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection with County SS and struck a south bound Chevy Equinox driven by Dillen Metheny of Springbrook. The collision sent both vehicles into the parking lot at the Country Inn striking five more vehicles.  Both drivers were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, while a passenger in the Equinox was airlifted out with serious injuries.  A person in the restaurant was slightly injured when one of the cars hit the building and knocked loose some debris.  Several emergency response teams responded including at least two helicopters.
