Patterson Preliminary Hearing Today

The man accused of kidnapping 13-year-old Jayme Closs and killing her parents is scheduled to appear in court this morning.   

21-year old Jake Patterson is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Barron County Court at 11am.  

Patterson is charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, one count of kidnapping and one count of armed burglary.  

According to a criminal complaint, Patterson outlined in detail for detectives how he shot and killed Jayme Closs' parents Oct. 15 in their home near Barron and abducted the girl. 

Jayme escaped in January from the remote cabin where Patterson had been hiding her.
