STATE VIRUS COUNT ABOVE 19,000

Thursday, June 4 -- The Wisconsin Department of Health recorded 483 new cases of COVID-19 in the state yesterday, boosting Wisconsin's total of positive cases to 19,400. Of those cases, only 14 percent have required hospitalization. Nine deaths were recorded Wednesday, raising the death toll to 616. More than 71 percent of the state's fatalities from the disease have been over 70 years of age.
In the six-county region comprised of Barron, Burnett, Polk, Rusk, Sawyer and Washburn counties, the total positive case load is now at 61, with two deaths.
