Three people were injured yesterday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 8 between Poskin and Almena.

The Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call at 720am of a two vehicle crash with injuries. Investigators say a Ford Taurus driven by 77-year old MaryAnn Desilvio, of Almena, was stopped on Hwy 8 waiting to turn into her driveway when she was rear ended by a truck driven by 30-year old Travis Peterson of Turtle Lake.

A passenger in the Taurus, 53-year old Donald Desilvio was flown out in critical condition.

Mary Ann Desilvio was transported to Mayo Hospital in serious condition and Peterson was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Hwy 8 was closed for about three hours for clean-up and accident reconstruction.
