Two Arrested in Connection to Human Remains Found in Barron County

Friday November 20th, 2020 - Two people were arrested in connection to human remains found in Barron County.

The bones were discovered in Barron County in 2017 and identified as 63 year old Gary Herbst in June of this year with the help on the DNA Doe project.

On Thursday at approximately 7am detectives from Scott County, Minnesota arrested 62 year old Connie Herbst of New Prague, Minnesota and 26 year old Austin Herbst of Elko New Market, Minnesota without incident. 

They were booked into jail on suspicion of 2nd Degree Murder.

The Barron County Sheriff's Office assisted with the ongoing investigation.
