Tuesday January 12, 2021 - Two suspects are in custody, one on the run, in connection to theft of construction equipment in Chetek.

A construction trailer with over $40,000 worth of equipment inside was stolen recently from the Chetek area. On Friday, January 8th, the trailer was recovered but the contents were not. Detectives from the Barron County Sheriff's Department conducted interviews which led to search warrants being served for three locations.

On Monday, January 11th, the first warrant was served at a residence in Ridgeland where 37 year old Zachary Sexton was arrested and is being held on charges of theft at the Barron County Jail. Later that evening the other two search warrants were served simultaneously. One at a trailer in Chetek where 56 year old Quinlan Thomas was taken into custody for a number of charges including Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Meth. The other at the residence of 36 year old David Haseltine who was not home at the time and is still on the run.

Anyone with information about Haseltine is asked to contact the Barron County Sheriff's Department.

All of the stolen equipment has since been recovered. The case remains under investigation.
