In Tuesday’s election, voters in dozens of counties across Wisconsin expressed their support for legalizing the use of marijuana in some form, and in a separate advisory question, approved closing the dark-store loophole.

Tuesday’s ballot questions were just advisory referendums, which mean they are non-binding.

Advisory referendums are meant to hear the public's opinion for future legislation, but carry no legal requirement..
