Wednesday February 17, 2021 - A wrong-way driver causes a head-on crash in Dunn County.

On Tuesday, just before 8:30pm, the Dunn County Communications Center received a report of a wrong-way driver traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of STH 29 in Chippewa County. At 8:30pm they received a report of a head-on crash near Elk Mound in Dunn County.

The preliminary investigation shows that the wrong-way driver drove his pickup truck head-on into a car and truck.

All three drivers were the lone occupants of their vehicle and all sustained non-life threatening injuries. The crash closed STH 29 for an hour and a half.   

Alcohol and/or drugs appear to be a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
