Festivus
December 23rd is Festivus for the rest of us! Besides airing of grievances and feats of strength, here are some Festivus dinner ideas for your celebration. |
Arnold Palmer
I often run into people who have never heard of the Arnold Palmer beverage. Many have had the refreshing mixture of iced tea and lemonade and not even realized there was a story behind the drink named after the famous golfer. Read the story about the Arnold Palmer Beverage |
Best Supper Club in Wisconsin
Vote in the Supper Club Showdown! Two of Barron County's Supper Clubs are finalists in the Supper Club Showdown. The Wisconsin Department of Tourism wants to know which of the top 20 is your favorite. You can vote once a day, per device. Good luck to the 5 O'Clock Club in Cumberland and Lehman's Supper Club in Rice Lake. |
KC Special
Cumberland Rutabaga Fest is in full swing! With so many treats to choose from, the sandwich I look forward to all year is the KC Special. More specifically, KC Special with Cheese. Make that MILD for me; I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to spicy foods. |
Music Memories
Carl Yastrzemski, "The Yaz," celebrates his 77th birthday on August 22nd. The Red Sox star spent his entire baseball career with Boston, with 1967 marking his best year. The Yaz won the Triple Crown of baseball, a record held until 2012. Boston radio host Jess Cain put together this catchy little ditty, adapted from a ragtime tune, which was part of the "Impossible Dream" album, commemorating the 1967 Red Sox season. |
